The problem

HVAC takeoffs fail when the model guesses a two-ton split because the floor area “looks like” two tons, when ERVs and generators are missed, and when duct is a lump with no page. A load calc sitting in the set is evidence for equipment selection, not a substitute for the mechanical schedule.

You still have to price equipment, mark SELF or SUB, and send a guest RFQ that does not include your unit prices.

No. Transcribe Manual S: brand, model, AFUE, SEER, tonnage. Load calcs confirm sizing; they are not a quantity source to fabricate tons. If the sheet is missing, that row is no-evidence, not a guessed two-ton split.

How detailed is the duct takeoff?

The prompt calls ductwork general unless the drawings support more. Treat it as a first pass. Edit. Do not pretend every fitting was counted.

Can I RFQ the mechanical sub on Solo?

Yes. Guest RFQs are on every plan, including Solo at $200 for five successful takeoffs. Crew is $399 for fifteen and is featured. Shop is $699 for forty. Failed runs do not count.

Is the public sample an HVAC-applied bid?

No. HVAC lines are on the takeoff table. The applied quote on /sample-bid is Coastal Plumbing in replace mode. HVAC remains in the self-performed picture unless you apply a mechanical quote on a live job.
