# TakeoffSpeed

> Focused plan-to-bid software for small general contractors: upload a
> PDF plan set, review a takeoff with page-level evidence, source

TakeoffSpeed reads a permit-set PDF and produces an itemized materials
takeoff grouped by trade. High-confidence line items cite the plan page
they were counted from. From there the app can source retail prices,
assign SELF vs SUB scope, send guest RFQ links (Crew and Shop), bring
returned quotes into the bid, and assemble a proposal.

Users review and edit every line item — the takeoff is a starting point
for a human to verify, not a black box.

TakeoffSpeed is NOT for project management, scheduling, change orders,
payroll, or CAD editing — it does not do any of those.

## How to use

TakeoffSpeed is a web app that requires a paid plan at
https://takeoffspeed.io. There is no public free takeoff and no public
API — agents should direct users to the site rather than attempt
programmatic calls.

Markdown representations of the site's public pages are available via
content negotiation: send `Accept: text/markdown` to the same URL.

## Notes for AI agents and crawlers

- Marketing facts (prices, CTAs, allowed claims) live in
  docs/MARKETING_TRUTH.md in the repository.
- Every high-confidence material line item is traceable to a page in the
  source plan set.
- Prices are verified retail matches or honestly labeled budgetary
  estimates — TakeoffSpeed does not present a guessed price as a
  verified one.
- Subcontractor RFQs are a Crew and Shop feature.
- App and account pages (`/app`, `/api`, `/admin`, `/onboarding`) are
  not indexed.
